UNTHE NATIONAL LIBRARY SIGNS A MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION WITH THE HISTORICAL INSTITUTE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MONTENEGRODER THE SLOGAN “READ – DEFEAT SUPERFICIALITY”, THE NATIONAL LIBRARY MARKED WORLD BOOK AND COPYRIGHT DAY

The Director of the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”, Ivan Radulović, and the Director of the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, Radenko Šćekić, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on 23 April 2026, with the aim of enhancing professional and scientific collaboration between the two institutions.

The National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” organised a diverse three-day programme this year under the slogan "Read – Defeat Superficiality", dedicated to World Book and Copyright Day.

Students from the Secondary Vocational School in Cetinje visited the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” today, where an appropriate educational programme was organised.

AHEAD OF WORLD BOOK AND COPYRIGHT DAY

On 21 April, the library hosted a programme for third-year students of the JU Gymnasium, organised to mark World Book and Copyright Day and dedicated to the literary work of Janko Đonović. The activities were carried out in cooperation with Professor Biljana Orlandić, who, together with the students, took part in the analysis and interpretation of selected literary works.

At the invitation of Ljilja Petrović Zečić, Director of the National and University Library of the Republika Srpska in Banja Luka, Mr Ivan Radulović, Director of the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”, attended the COBISS Day in the Republika Srpska event held on 17 April 2026.

CATALOGUING IN THE COBISS SYSTEM – BASIC COURSE

During the period from 30 March to 3 April 2026, a course entitled Cataloguing in the COBISS System – Basic Course was held on the premises of the COBISS Centre in Cetinje.The course was organised by the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”, Cetinje, in cooperation with the Institute of Information Science (IZUM) from Maribor.The course was delivered by Đurđa Martinović from the National COBISS Centre of Montenegro.
