NATIONAL LIBRARY OF MONTENEGRO “ĐURĐE CRNOJEVIĆ” MARKS STATEHOOD DAY WITH THE EXHIBITION “13 JULY THROUGH ARTISTIC CREATIVITY”

The 13 July Uprising, a symbol of resistance to fascism and the Montenegrin people's struggle for freedom, is presented through the visual art of Petar Lubarda, Anton Lukateli, Aleksandar Prijić, Luka Tomanović, and other artists; musical works and arrangements of partisan folk songs; literary works, including the poetry of Mirko Banjević, Aleksandar Ivanović, Ratko Vujošević, Momir Marković, and others; anecdotes from the National Liberation War, memoirs, the novels of Mihailo Lalić, as well as films inspired by the Uprising and literary works dedicated to the National Liberation War.

Montenegro is “an eternally open window of freedom, forever carrying the broken chains of slavery, ever bearing wounds washed by drops of dew.”

The exhibition will be open to the public from 10 July to 10 August 2026 in the entrance hall of the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” (75 Bulevar crnogorskih heroja, Cetinje).
