From 7 May to 16 June 2026, a committee comprising Đurđa Martinović, Danijela Radulović, and Marija Mašanović successfully carried out an electronic stocktaking of the section of the Montenegrina Collection housed in the building of the former French Embassy. This marks the first electronic stocktaking of its kind undertaken by the National Library of Montenegro.
Although certain challenges and uncertainties arose during the process, they were successfully resolved as the work progressed, ensuring both the continuity and accuracy of the inventory.
At the start of the stocktaking, the collection comprised 4,364 titles in 4,520 copies. The inventory was completed on 16 June 2026, with a total of 4,506 copies successfully scanned and verified.
The completion of the stocktaking in the building of the former French Legation represents the successful conclusion of the first and particularly significant phase of this project. In order to obtain a comprehensive overview and establish the definitive status of the national collection, it is necessary to continue the stocktaking of the remaining part of the Montenegrina Collection housed in the Main Repository.
The next phase of the stocktaking is scheduled to begin in September 2026.
