The National Library of
Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” marked the World Poetry Day with the occasion speech
of the writer Aleksandar Bečanović yesterday, on March 21.
On this occasion, the
Library was visited by pupils of Cetinje primary and secondary schools and
their professors, as well as students from the Faculty of Montenegrin Language
and Literature in Cetinje.
Let us remind you, the World
Poetry Day was declared by UNESCO in 1999 and it is celebrated on 21 March.
Declaration says that its purpose is to promote the reading, writing,
publishing and teaching of poetry throughout the world and, as the original
UNESCO declaration says, to “give fresh recognition and impetus to national,
regional and international poetry movements”.
