The International Scientific Meeting “Ahmed Sudi Bošnjak – Life and Work” was held in the Great Hall of the Gazi Husrev-bey Library in Sarajevo on March 15.
Ahmed Sudi Bošnjak is one of the most important commentators of Persian classics and Arabic grammar works in the Ottoman Empire. His comments on the Persian classical works of the three centuries have been used as Persian language textbooks throughout the Ottoman Empire and are also among the first printed books in Turkey. The greatest attention was drawn to his commentary on Hafez’s Divan, which has been translated in Western Europe in the 19th century.
The exhibitors at this event were eminent experts from Iran, Turkey, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Guests at the event were directors of the National Libraries of Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Director of the Greek Presidential Library. National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” was represented by Vjenceslava Ševaljević, Head of the Development of Library Activities Department.
