Department for Library Information System and Digitization, Vjenceslava
Ševaljević, M.Sc., visited the City Library and Reading Room in Herceg
Novi on October 2, 2025. In the premises of the Library, the delegation
from Cetinje was received by the Director of the Library, Jasna Maslan.
All aspects of the work of the library in Herceg Novi, which has long
been recognized as the center of cultural events in this city, were
discussed.
Director Maslan presented the information that the Library managed to
rent a space in which the children's department will be adequately
organized, as well as a part of the fund which, due to the lack of
space, was located outside the Library for years. The Library will also
extend the working hours with users in the afternoon shift.
Librarians and library technicians of the library in Herceg Novi work
hard in the COBISS.CG system, and the registry office regularly
performs its function in all school and special libraries.
The city library and reading room in Herceg Novi is proof that
libraries that operate independently achieve much better results than
libraries that operate as part of cultural centers, which results in a
high level and variety of services they provide to their users.
