The promotion of the book “Banjani i Katunska nahija” by Dr. Radomir
Milović was held in the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”
on Friday.
Dr. Radomir Ristov Milović was born in the village Podljut in 1948.
He holds a degree in electrical engineering and a doctorate in
electrical engineering. He has published about 40 professional papers
and 18 books, 3 of which he co-authored. The themes of his works are
related to the history, ethnology, anthropogeography and onomastics of
the immediate homeland of Banjani and other parts of Montenegro. He
lives and creates in Nikšić.
The director of the National Library of Montenegro addressed the
audience first, saying that such works are very necessary, both from the
point of view of science and scientific research, and in terms of
looking at the values on which Montenegro has preserved its
thousand-year long historical continuity.
The special value of this work, according to reviewers prof. Dr.
Miroslav Doderović and Petar Krivokapić, is that the author used a
scientific-methodological approach and reference sources during the
creation process.
The author pointed out that every work on Banjani and Katunska nahija
is at the same time a work about Banjani and Montenegro in the light of
its historical stability and continuity and importance for its social
and national liberation.
After the promotion, visitors had the opportunity to view the
exhibition of representative works of Montenegrin publishing in the
period from the restoration of Montenegrin independence to the present
day, prepared in honor of Montenegro's Independence Day.
