The first constitutional session of the new Advisory Board of
the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” was held on March, 2023.
In accordance with the Law on Culture, the Government of
Montenegro issued a Decision on the appointment of the Library Council on December
28, 2022.
Prof. Dr. Tatjana Jovović was appointed as the president of
the Advisory Board, and for the members: Dr. Gojko Čelebić, Petar Pejaković,
director, MSc Ksenija Rakočević and, as a representative of the employees of
this public institution, librarian Boban Medojević. The session was attended by acting
assistant directors Slavica Glendža and Dragan Mirković, as well as heads of
all organizational units of the Library.
Director Dragica Lompar, M.Sc., along with her associates,
introduced the new Advisory board to the basic functions, organization and
current activities of NLM “Đurđe Crnojević”. She also gave an introductory explanation of the Work
Report for 2022 and the Work Program for 2023, after which the heads individually
highlighted the most important activities of the departments they manage.
After several hours of very constructive discussion, the Work
Report for 2022 with the Financial Report and the Work Program for 2023 were unanimously
adopted.
Advisory Board members expressed their satisfaction with
their election to this governing body, the quality of prepared documents and
the warm welcome to the National Library, as well as their willingness to make
a full contribution to improving the work and status of the most important
library institution in our country and its employees.
