“COBISS 2022” conference was held under the
slogan “Working together to build confidence in science and development” at the
Institute of Information Science in Maribor on October 19 and 20.
During the two-day event, which
could also be followed online via the Zoom application, 24 lectures were held, followed
by more than 600 participants from 12 countries. There were presented numerous
interesting topics from various fields of science, from librarianship to
supercomputing. Nine representatives of libraries from the COBISS.CG system
participated in this Conference organized by the Institute of Information
Science from Maribor (IZUM) and the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe
Crnojević”, with the financial support of IZUM from Maribor. On behalf of the
Virtual Library of Montenegro, a presentation on the topic “The role of the
National COBISS Center in the development of the library and information system
in Montenegrin libraries” was given by MA Vjenceslava Ševaljević, the Head of
the COBISS Center of Montenegro. In addition to monitoring professional work
and exchanging opinions, good practices and achievements with lecturers,
colleagues and other participants, the event was also an excellent opportunity
for networking. One of the important activities within the “COBISS 2022” Conference
was the COBISS.Net Council meeting, where the Minutes from the last Council
Session held via ZOOM on September 12 this year were adopted. The cooperation
in the coming period was also discussed. Montenegrin representatives in this
body are MSc Dragica Lompar, director of NLM and MSc Vjenceslava Ševaljević, Head
of the COBISS center. The key topic at this meeting was the summary of the
COBISS 2022 Conference, news in the COBISS system and giving support for the
work of COBISS system members, including development assistance from the
Republic of Slovenia for the expansion of the COBISS.Net network.
