At the end of
2019, NLM “Đurđe Crnojević” received earmarked funds from the Ministry of
Culture for the rehabilitation of the Ceremonial Hall, which could not be
realized during 2020 due to the COVID19 pandemic.
Due to the
penetration of water from one of the terraces of the former Italian embassy
building, part of the ceiling and decorative plastic in the Ceremonial Hall
were damaged and started falling off. Therefore, an urgent intervention was
needed, which consisted of installing new hydro isolation and replacing the
stone plates on the mentioned terrace, repairing the damage to the ceiling,
installing the missing decorative plastic and painting the ceiling and walls.
After the completion
of the procedure, provided by the Law on Protection of Cultural Heritage and
obtaining the necessary documentation on the implementation of conservation
measures, all the conditions for the start of rehabilitation works have been
met. The deadline for their completion is 30 days.
