Use of software COBISS3/Cataloguing
starting course took place from February 1 to February 5, 2021 in the premises
of the Cobiss Center in Cetinje.
The course was organized by the
National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” in cooperation with the
Institute of Information Sciences – IZUM, from Maribor.
Licensed lecturer from the
National COBISS Center of Montenegro, Đurđa Martinović, MA, led the course.
The course participants were librarians from the following
libraries:
▪PI Public Library of Budva - 3 participants, (BBD)
▪ High School of Electrical Engineering “Vaso Aligrudić”,
Podgorica – 1 participant (ETSPG)
▪PI Cultural Center - Public Library “Njegoš” Nikšić - 1 participant
(NBNK)
▪JU Centar za kulturu - Narodna biblioteka, Tivat - 1
kandidat (NBTV)
▪National Museum of Montenegro/Library and Archives
Department - 2 participants (NMCG)
and Radović Mirjana – individual, Nikšić

Course Program:
✅ COBISS3 Basic Guidelines (user
interface, log in, setting interface for cataloguing)
✅ Preparation for cataloguing
✅ COMARC/B format
✅ Creating records from
scratches
✅ Temporary storage of records
✅ Special characters input
✅ Using editor (adding fields, subfields,
indicators, letter conversion...)
✅ Insight into the COMARC/B
manual
✅ other cataloguing procedures
Participants were given the
privilege to mutually catalogue monographic publications (books) and to
download records from the MARC 21 format in a shared cataloguing testing
environment.
