A BOOK “JESEN PJESNIKA” BY BOŽIDAR PROROČIĆ AT NLM

A collection of poems “Jesen pjesnika” by Božidar Proročić, publicist and translator, was presented at the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević“ in Cetinje.

Sreten Vujović, academician of DANU, Borislav Cimeša, writer and author spoke about the book.

A poet’s debut of Božidar Proročić, “Jesen pjesnika”, according to Mr. Vujović, is composed, conditionally speaking, of three thematically divided cycles. Conditionally - because in all poetic vibrations, whether it relates to the love of woman, descriptions or patriotic charge, a connective tissue is love.

“This is confirmed by poems “Njegoševom u ponoć”, “Ponoćni kolorit Cetinja”, “Kiše Cetinja”, in which emotions towards the woman are intertwined with those which are inextricably linked to homeland”, said Vujović.

Speaking about the poems from this collection, Vujović pointed out that when one chooses to speak in verses, one must find oneself in the erased areas of life, that is, in those where it is necessary to create a new world.

“Much has been written about love, of course, but it is, like poetry, always different, always new and elusive to its incredible power of transformation. That is why, for the young poet, it is a secret that hurts, but also a play in infinity”, said Vujović and added that the author is a prisoner at the altar of love, in front of which he prays, condescended and aware that the only sin, even that of the ancestral one, consists of the desire to find out the truth, no matter how painful it may be, and at the same that the pain only awakes primordial melancholy, to which we know neither the origin nor the end.

Proročić's collection of poems, according to Mr. Cimeša, shines in the limes of the established poetic standard of Montenegrin current poetry.

“It is structured on thematic-motivational sources of love, patriotism and reflexivity, and it sparkles with poetic honesty, purity of expression and verse, passionate spirit, linguistic fluidity, and stylistic simplicity as the relevant constituent of truth. It is transformed and metamorphosed into a romantic nobleman with spirit who experiences love like the great apostles, with the most exalted treasure of the human spirit, more intense than faith and hope”, said Cimeša.

The author of the work said that this collection is a kind of homage to Aleksandar Leso Ivanović, to whom the poem of the same name was dedicated.

Mr. Seyran Mirzazada, director of the Cultural and Economical Center of Azerbaijan in Montenegro, who spoke verses of the poem “Otisak”, as well as students of Cetinje elementary schools, also contributed to the presentation of the book.

Nikolina Kašćelan, student of the eight grade of the elementary school “Njegoš”, presented herself by reciting verses of the poems “Usamljena zvijezda” and “Sveta planina”, and a year older student of this school, Hajdana Đurović reciting poems “Lutajuća duša” and “Prognanink”.

Elementary school “Lovćenski partizanski odred” had its representatives at the promotion as well.

Vasilije Đukanović, a ninth grade student recited the poem “Poslanica ljubavi”, while the musical accompaniment were a year younger students of this school, Aleksa Pravilović, on guitar and Iva Vučković, on violin.

Mediators of the evening were Anita Janković and Milica Lipovina, third grade students of Gymnasium Cetinje.
