NLM MARKED WORLD BOOK AND COPYRIGHT DAY

The World Book and Copyright Day, which is celebrated every year since 1995, as a symbolic date in world literature because on that day in 1616 Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare died, was marked today at the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” in Cetinje.

A well-known Montenegrin poet, Dragana Tripković, spoke about literature and students from Cetinje schools participated in the program.

One-year older student Jana Janković presented herself by reciting Desanka Maksimović’s poem “Molba mladosti”. Jovana Lagator, student of the eight grade, read a passage from the novel “Derviš i smrt”, while Marija Andrić, Maša Radoičić and Dorotea Bušković, students of the ninth grade, made a homage to Leso Ivanović.

The students of the Secondary Vocational School also contributed to the celebration of this event, and presented themselves to the Cetinje audience by recitals.

Her peers, Milica Borozan with Ana Ahmatova’s poem “Dugo sam” and Nikoleta Lagator with William Shakespeare’s Sonnet CXXXIX. Snežana Kustudić, student of the third grade recited Gwendolyn Brook’s poem “When you have forgotten Sunday”, while Slavica Pajević i Vasja Mrvaljević presented themselves by reciting verses from a rich opus of Desanka Maksimović and her poems “Strepnja” and “Na buri”.
