Adam Zagajewski, winner
of this year's International Literary Flame Award, which is being presented in
Podgorica in organization of the publishing house “Nova knjiga” visited the National
Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” yesterday, on March 6, 2019.
Zagajewski is a famous
Polish and world poet and essayist and a long-standing candidate for the Nobel
Prize. He
was born in Ukraine, grew up and educated in Poland, lived and worked in
France, Germany and America.
Besides Zagajewski, the
Library was visited by His Excellency Artur Dmochowski, Ambassador of the
Republic of Poland to Montenegro, prof. Dr Aleksandar Jerkov, member of the
jury for the Literary Flame Award and Predrag Uljarević, director and editor of
“Nova knjiga”.
The guests were
introduced to the activities and holdings of the Library, and visited the
recently opened Njegoš’s room, which is a particularly interesting segment of
the Library.
