Jubilee 150 years since the establishment of the Cetinje Reading Room will be marked on Monday, February 5, at the hall of the National Library “Đurđe Crnojević” in Cetinje, starting at 6pm.
Within this ceremony will be prepared an exhibition of books that will be opened by prof. Radovan Radonjić, PhD and visitors will get a chance to enjoy the performance of the flutist Žana Lekić, professor of the Music Academy.
Vesna Lagator – Pijevac, Director of the National Library and reading room “Njegoš” will address the visitors.
The Public Library and Reading Room “Njegoš” is one of the oldest cultural institutions in Montenegro. It was founded on February 4, 1868, and its founders were Montenegrin sovereign Nikola I Petrović-Njegoš, Metropolitan Ilarion Roganović and 19 most distinguished figures in Montenegro then.
The event is organized by the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” in cooperation with the Public Library and Reading Room “Njegoš”.
