The open cultural forum, jointly organised by the Montenegrin PEN Centre and the Central National Library “Djurdje Crnojevic”, features the programme entitled “Garden, Encyclopaedia, Ashes” to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of Danilo Kis.
The speakers at the event deliberating the work of Danilo Kis and in particular his influence on modern literary trends in the South Slavic and European context include Bozo Koprivica, Sonja Tomovic-Sundic, Pavle Goranovic, Teofil Pancic and Faruk Sehic.In the framework of this event a special issue of the ARS magazine will be published, 4-5/09, to date the most voluminous serial publication fully devoted to the work of Danilo Kis. In addition to Kis’s contemporaries, this issue will for the first time feature the texts of the youngest generation of post-Yugoslav writers. On the same night an exhibition of the posters made by students of the Faculty of Arts from Cetinje will be opened, named “Danilo Kis – Garden, Encyclopaedia, Ashes“.The event is scheduled for Friday, 27 November 2009, starting at 18.30 at the celebration hall of the CNL “Djurdje Crnojevic“ at Cetinje.
