EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHS BY LIDIJA VUKČEVIĆ

Exhibition of photographs “Silhouettes” by Lidija Vukčević was opened today at the National Library “Đurđe Crnojević” in Cetinje.

Opening the exhibition, the famous Montenegrin artist Luka Lagator said that photographs are echoes of Lidia’s childhood days spent in the mid-50s in Njegoš’s street in Podgorica, in her grandfather’s house in which she now lives even now, of course when in Montenegro. They fully depict focused sensuality of Lidija Vukčević, who knows how to recognize the phenomenon and react at the right moment”.

Lagator points out that “the observer does not need to be a special photography expert, which is one of many possible art expressions, so he/she could recognize with ease that this is an artist who successfully draws her lavish talent through her scientific, literary and artistic expression, bringing by her exceptional sensibility to peace these, at first glance, irreconcilable categories”.

“Lidija, beyond something what we can comprehend as a “Dictionary of Coincidence” following a kind of “Factory of Small Utopias”, skillfully separated “Ordinary Things” and came to her “True Story”, which she could entitle “My Philosophical Dictionary”, concluded Lagator.

Lidija Vukčević, the author of the exhibition, also addressed the audience, who said that this exhibition is made up of 30 photographs in black and white and sfumato technique, which were created in her studio in Podgorica in 2016.
