The National Library of
Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” participated in the SEENL (Network of Directors
and Representatives of National Libraries of South-East Europe) conference,
held in Pristina and Gjakova from 28 to 30 September 2026, and organised by the
National Library of Kosovo “Pjetër Bogdani”.
This year’s conference was
dedicated to the theme “Regional Strategies for Artificial Intelligence:
Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Library Services”, with a focus on the
opportunities for applying artificial intelligence in modern librarianship and
on developing regional approaches in this field.
The meeting was attended by directors and representatives of the
national libraries of Montenegro, Türkiye, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo
and Albania.
The discussions focused on the experiences and practices of the
participating institutions, with the aim of further strengthening regional
cooperation among the national libraries of South-East Europe in the fields of
artificial intelligence and digitisation, as well as improving and facilitating
library services for users through the application of new technologies.
The National Library of Montenegro was represented by Director
Ivan Radulović and International Cooperation Coordinator Slađana Sjekloća, who
presented the experience and activities of the National Library of Montenegro
in relation to the conference theme.
It was agreed at the meeting that the 14th SEENL Conference
would be hosted by the National Library of Albania.
Participation in the conference represents a significant
contribution to the exchange of knowledge and experience concerning modern
technologies in librarianship, as well as to the further development of
international and regional cooperation by the National Library of Montenegro.
