UNTHE NATIONAL LIBRARY SIGNS A MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION WITH THE HISTORICAL INSTITUTE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MONTENEGRODER THE SLOGAN “READ – DEFEAT SUPERFICIALITY”, THE NATIONAL LIBRARY MARKED WORLD BOOK AND COPYRIGHT DAY
The Director of the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”, Ivan Radulović, and the Director of the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, Radenko Šćekić, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on 23 April 2026, with the aim of enhancing professional and scientific collaboration between the two institutions.
This Memorandum establishes the foundations for joint activities in the fields of science, culture, and librarianship, through the organisation of national and international research projects, conferences, round tables, as well as publishing and professional initiatives.
The cooperation will include joint planning and implementation of scientific and research projects, organisation of academic gatherings, conferences, and professional programmes; publication of monographs, conference proceedings, and other materials; exchange of publications and enhancement of library collections; interlibrary loans and provision of materials for research purposes; organisation of seminars, training sessions, and lectures; exchange of professional knowledge, analyses, and expertise; as well as mutual technical and professional support.
Particular emphasis is placed on the exchange of publications in the field of social sciences, with a focus on history, as well as on the joint development of library collections.
The Memorandum enters into force on the day of its signing and provides for continuous cooperation, with the possibility of further development through concrete joint activities and projects.
