The National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” will mark World
Book Day with a special programme dedicated to lovers of the written
word. On this occasion, activities promoting reading, books, and the
importance of libraries in modern society will be organised. Visitors
will have the opportunity to take part in cultural events and become
acquainted with the library’s rich collection. The aim of the
celebration is to encourage reading habits and promote literature among
all generations.
Two days, 21 and 22 April, are intended for secondary school students
and dedicated to the work of Janko Đonović. As part of the programme, a
methodological study and analysis of the poem Crmnica in Autumn will be
carried out, through which students will have the opportunity to gain a
deeper understanding of the literary motifs, style, and significance of
the author’s work. A special segment of the programme will be an
exhibition of Janko Đonović’s books from the library’s collection,
presenting his literary oeuvre and contribution to Montenegrin
literature.
The programme for university students will take place on 23 April.
The focus of the event will be on contemporary themes, the creative
process, and the influence of technology on literature and journalism.
Moderator Suzana Marjanović will speak with writer and journalist Nikola
Marković, author of the book "I, ChatGPT".
Through a brief overview of artificial intelligence, students will
have the opportunity to learn about its significance and application in
today’s society. The programme aims to encourage critical thinking and
open a dialogue on the relationship between people and technology in the
modern age.
The Library invites all interested visitors to join in and celebrate a
day dedicated to books and knowledge. Throughout all three days of the
programme, visitors will be able to receive a free membership card.
