During the period from 30 March to 3 April 2026, a course entitled
Cataloguing in the COBISS System – Basic Course was held on the premises
of the COBISS Centre in Cetinje.The course was organised by the
National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”, Cetinje, in
cooperation with the Institute of Information Science (IZUM) from
Maribor.The course was delivered by Đurđa Martinović from the National COBISS Centre of Montenegro.
The participants were librarians from member libraries of the COBISS
system (IIPG, NBPG, NBNK), as well as librarians from institutions that
are prospective members of the system. A total of 9 participants
attended the course, out of 10 registered candidates.
The procedure for obtaining a licence for shared cataloguing is
carried out in accordance with the Rulebook on Detailed Conditions and
the Method of Issuing Licences for Shared Cataloguing (Official Gazette
of Montenegro, No. 8/2013).
Upon completion of the course, participants were assigned a
username for creating records in the LICCG environment for shared
cataloguing, thereby initiating the procedure for obtaining a licence.
Records submitted as part of the application are reviewed by the Commission for the Awarding of Licences. After
obtaining a licence for shared cataloguing, a librarian is granted
permission to create bibliographic records for monographic publications
in both the shared database and the local database.
