The promotion of Safet Hadrović-Vrbički's book “DIVAN II: The Alchemy of Words and Deeds” was held in the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” on December 3, 2025.
The work contains a collection of essays, poetry, prose, stories and testimonies that depict the tradition and spiritual thread of the Bosniak people in Montenegro.
Writer and publicist Božidar Proročić said that the works of Safet Hadrović-Vrbičkik are “great testimonies of suffering, but also proof that resistance through words is one of the most honorable forms of struggle. Through each of his texts, Hadrović reveals the spiritual and intellectual strength of a people who survived many storms but remained upright. Hadrović is an indomitable fighter, a tireless creator, an author who, even in his late years, does not give up writing, but shapes the most beautiful and lasting pages of contemporary Bosniak literature.”
Professor of literature Veljko Đukanović spoke about the importance of the second volume of the anthology “Divan” from a pedagogical point of view, explaining why the works of this author are included in school literature: "What further distinguishes Hadrović Vrbički is his consistent care for the Bosnian language as the foundation of identity. For him, the language is the keeper of memory, a talisman of the people, a narrative that is built between generations. Hadrović insists on moral purity, strength and responsibility, words act as a cultural but also as a cult act of resistance. His literature is not exclusive; it is an invitation to understanding.”
Cultural expert Saša Božović pointed out that the author consistently combines literature, historical testimony and the culture of memory. She added that the message of his work transcends ethnic and national boundaries, turning into a universal ethical call.
Speaking about his work, the author of the book Safet Hadrović-Vrbički emphasized that it calls for the awakening of collective consciousness, in order to preserve the truth about all the events that shaped Bosniak history.
“My intention is to open the eyes of those who need to see, that no less than 127 crimes took place there over the hill, which until then were unknown to psychology, logic, medicine, or law”, said Hadrović Vrbički.
The promotion of the book was organized by the National Library “Đurđe Crnojević”, and the project was supported by the Fund for the Protection and Realization of Minority Rights of Montenegro. (source: RTV Cetinje)
