The National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” is part of the
ReadForReal project, within the which we organize a meeting with the
author Stefan Mitić. The event is scheduled for Friday, December 5,
starting at 11 a.m.
Stefan Mitić tiĆmi was born in Leskovac and he is a multiple
award-winning writer for children and adults. Stefan is the author of
the novels “I am Akiko” and “The Moss Coat”, which were included in the
200 best children's books in the world, as selected by the “White
Ravens” catalogue, published by the Munich Library. His novel “I am
Akiko” got the Award of Politikin Zabavnik and plaque “Childrens’ Book
of the Year” on the International festival „Book Square” in Herceg Novi.
He is the winner of the „Dragon Poet’s Stick“ for the year 2023.
The conversation with the writer will be led by the Montenegrin writer for children and adults, Aleksandra Lekić Vujisić.
Attendees will get bookmarkers with space for the autograph, as well
as postcards with an empty space to release their own creativity and
create beautiful memories.
The European Authors Day was established in 2023 thanks to the
initiative of the European Commission. For two years, it was coordinated
by Creative Europe, which continues to co-fund the project. Since 2025,
the European Authors Day, under the inviting slogan #ReadForReal, is
led by a consortium of seven partners from five countries. You can find
