The fifth conference of librarians, archivists and museologists (LAM), Montenegro 2025, organized by the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”, the State Archives and the National Museum of Montenegro, was held in Cetinje on May 28 and 29, 2025.
The conference opened on May 28 in the Old Government House, in the hall “Ivan Crnojević”, which was followed by the working part in the morning and afternoon sessions. The continuation of the Conference took place on May 29 at the National Library “Đurđe Crnojević”, starting at 10 a.m.
The topic of the Conference was the “Transformation of libraries, archives and museums in a (post)digital environment with a focus on the protection, accessibility, research and promotion of cultural heritage”. The conference was attended by librarians, archivists, conservators and museum experts from Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Croatia. 28 papers prepared by 42 participants (authors and co-authors) were presented.
In addition to the work part, the following contents were also realized:
A panel discussion on the topic Cultural heritage in a digital environment: between preservation, interpretation and accessibility, organized by the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” and the Association of Librarians of Montenegro, was held in the State Archives of Montenegro on May 28. The following day, the attendees had the opportunity to enjoy the exhibition of the State Archives of Montenegro Teacher's School in Cetinje between the two wars - by Vesna Đuričković and Jasna Cvetković, in the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”.
As NLM director “Đurđe Crnojević” indicated in her welcoming speech, “the international conference of librarians, archivists and museum workers was organized for the fifth time in Cetinje and aimed to encourage and exchange common values, knowledge, experiences and promote cultural heritage and culture in general, as a universal link between peoples and countries.”
On behalf of the Program and Organization Committee, she thanked for the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Old Royal Capital of Cetinje and Mayor Nikola Đurašković, the Public Institution National Parks of Montenegro and all colleagues who contributed to the organization of the event.
