April 20 and 21 – The
presentation of the NID (Net-Interactive Documents) platform was attended by
representatives of our library: library consultant Zorica Sjekloća, senior
librarians: Lidija Popović, Milutin Đukić and Žarko Mirković, as well as librarian
Bojana Joksimović.
The NID platform is actually an
application for storing, searching and creating content / documents of NID
(www.nid-library.com), i.e. a software package created by the Graz University
of Technology, as part of the Austria-Forum platform (www.austria-forum.org).
Professor Dr. Herman Maurer from
the University of Technology in Graz and Professor Dr. Veljko M. Milutinović,
professor of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, spoke on the
first day of the presentation about the structure and potential of NID in the
process of promotion, dissemination and communication of knowledge.
The following day they
demonstrated many applications of NID and some of its powerful management
tools, such as "translation", following Ted Nelson's terminology, but
not only through the choice of interface language, but also through the choice
of complexity of the interfaces offered, and also how to use copyrighted
material without violating copyright laws.
