A new edition of the National Library
of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”, a bio-bibliography of academician Mladen
Lompar, edited by Ljiljana Đorđević, library consultant, has been published.
Mladen Lompar was born in Cetinje on
March 22, 1944. He was a poet, art historian, art critic and museum consultant. His
contribution to Montenegrin culture, art and education is difficult to describe
in brief, since he was one of the founders of the Montenegrin Association of
Independent Writers and, as a museum consultant, the author of numerous
exhibitions of Montenegrin art and museum installations, as well as the
monograph “Montenegrin Painters”, for which he received the “Miroslavljevo jevanđelje”
award. He ran the publishing house “Dignitas” and was the editor of “Ars”,the
journal of literature, culture and social affairs.
He is the recipient of the most
important and most appreciated awards in the country, among them: “Zlatni pečat
Crnojevića”, “Trinaestojulska nagrada“, book awards “Risto Ratković“,
“Aleksandar Leso Ivanović“ and “Vito Nikolić“. He was awarded the “Ivan
Crnojević” charter posthumously.
In 2020, the legacy of Mladen Lompar
was bestowed by his family to the National Museum of Montenegro.
We warmly recommend this valuable
edition and we are sure that it will please everyone who recognizes the
importance of bibliographic work.
