Promotion of the travelogue
“Sightlines” by Kathleen Jamie was held last night at the National Library of
Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”. The book was discussed by its’ translator, prof.
Dr. Aleksandra Nikčević-Batrićević and Sladjana Sjekloća, senior librarian.
The translator introduced the
audience to the creative world of the Scottish writer in an extremely vivid
way, describing her main motives and the areas from which she draws
inspiration. She also explained the way in which the author approaches the
text, as well as how challenging her translation endeavor was, which enriched
her in many ways, personally and professionally.
The audience was inspired by the
presentation of Ms. Nikčević-Batrićević, so they showed interest in the book
through questions, and some, thanks to the kindness of the translator, received
it as a gift.
