The first “Days of Radovan
Zogović” festival was held under the auspices of the Municipality of Kolašin
and the Cultural Center Kolašin on 18th and 19th of
August.
According to the organizers, the
event aimed to revive the memory of one of the most important Montenegrin poets
of the XX century and to promote values such as freedom, tolerance and
anti-fascism, which Zogović inherited in his poetry.
Librarianship was one of the
topics addressed to within the two-day rich cultural program. Dragica Lompar,
assistant director of the National Library “Đurđe Crnojević” in Cetinje and
Jasmina Bajo, president of the Association of Librarians of Montenegro, spoke
about the challenges that this activity faces in the modern environment. The
moderator of the forum was Ivana Lakićević, a fourth-year student at the
Montenegrin Language and South Slavic Literature Department. Dragica Lompar
pointed out the importance of the National Library “Đurđe Crnojević” from
Cetinje for the development of Montenegrin librarianship, while Jasmina Bajo
presented the activities of the Association of Librarians of Montenegro.
There was a word about issues of
respect for copyright, modern library services, the situation in which
libraries found themselves at the time of the COVID pandemic and the situation
in Montenegrin publishing.
