The Assembly of the Association
of Librarians of Montenegro was held at the National Library of Montenegro
“Đurđe Crnojević” in Cetinje on Friday, December 27.
Numerous delegates who came from
all over Montenegro were greeted by the Association's President, Librarian
Advisor Jasmina Bajo, and congratulated all library staff for their work in library
and information science and addressed them congratulating - December 27 - the
Day of Librarians of Montenegro.
In the first part of the
Assembly, two presentations were held: The Head of the Kotor Maritime Library,
Library Advisor Nataša
Gobović and the Head of the Kotor City Library, Senior Librarian Marija
Starčević spoke about the IFLA WILC congress held in Athens from August 24 to August
30, 2019, while Senior Librarian and Digitization Coordinator at the National
Library “Đurđe Crnojević”, Zorica Sjekloća, spoke on the subject of “Digitizing
Valuable Library Materials”.
Members of the Supervisory Board
and the Court of Honor of the Association were elected in the working part of
the Assembly and a new decision was made on the membership fee of the
Association.
The Association of Librarians of
the People's Republic of Montenegro was formed in Cetinje on December 27, 1952,
and that date is marked as the Day of the Librarians of Montenegro.
